First Institute Alumnus Completes Medical School

Jonathan Hill ’10 graduated today from the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jonathan is a graduate of the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics. He began his preparation for medical school by majoring in Biology at Emory University, conducting research at the Medical University of South Carolina, and interning at Commonwealth Orthopedics in Fairfax, Virginia as an Institute scholar. He will now begin his residency in Houston, Texas.

Next in the medical school pipeline is Lawrence Brown’11, who attended Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama and is currently in his second year at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Before beginning his studies for the M.D., Brown completed Meharry’s master’s program in Public Health.
