Young men who are eligible to apply are American citizens who are currently sophomores at colleges and universities in the United States or abroad. All majors and a wide variety of career interests are acceptable.

The application deadline is Wednesday, February 15. All materials must be received by the Institute by 5:00 p.m. on that date. A complete application includes the online form, a resume, 2 letters of recommendation from professors, 2 writing samples, an official transcript, and a passport photo.

The new class of juniors will live with our returning seniors on the campus of George Washington University. All scholars will work full-time at internships in their fields of interest. They will complete a seminar on economic and constitutional principles at the Institute of World Politics and will meet privately with some of America’s most influential leaders. They will participate in several personal and professional development activities, and they will enjoy many other special opportunities that the Nation’s Capital offers. Most importantly, they will become members of a powerful network of talented African American men.
