Robert Fisher ’14 Begins Rhodes Scholar Year

This afternoon, Robert Fisher and his fellow Rhodes Scholars departed Washington, DC as a class on a trip to Oxford, England to begin the first of their two years as Rhodes Scholars.

Fisher is a native of Clarksville, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was a William E. Brock Scholar in the university’s Honors College. He earned a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average as a Political Science major and History minor. He was elected Student Body President during his sophomore year and was named by Governor Bill Haslam to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

During his junior year at UTC, Fisher was named at 2014 Truman Scholar by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. Fisher is the second Institute alumnus to be named a Rhodes Scholar.
