Victor Agbafe

Harvard University
Victor Agbafe is a Government major at Harvard University, and intends to combine public service and neurosurgery. Before arriving at Harvard, Victor was student body president and valedictorian of his high school, a National Achievement Scholar, and a Coca-Cola Scholar. He also participated in the United States Senate Youth Program. He currently serves as an elected Representative in the Harvard Undergraduate Counsel and on the Student Health Planning Committee for Harvard Health Services. Victor’s hometown is Wilmington, North Carolina.

Kwame Assoku

New York University
Kwame Assoku is preparing for a future in law and politics by majoring in Politics at New York University. He is a founding member of Upsilon Upsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity at NYU and sees the fraternity as a platform from which to serve the community. His grandfather stressed to him from a young age that he was placed on earth not just to serve himself, but to serve others. Kwame was born in Accra, Ghana and moved with his parents to Queens, New York when he was in the fourth grade. He graduated from high school in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Marvin Clark

Columbia Univertisy
Marvin Clark attends Columbia University. He is studying Political Science and aspires to a career in law and politics. He has participated in Mock Trial, Moot Court and International Moot Court, competing in The Hague, Netherlands. He has also interned with the New York law firm, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. At his high school, the Felisa Rincon de Gautier Institute for Law and Public Policy, he earned eight gold and three silver awards in various subjects, was named to the Principal’s Honor Roll, and was valedictorian. He also served as student body president. His main community service activity is the mentoring of a dozen high school juniors through Breakthrough New York. Marvin’s hometown is Bronx, New York.

Justin Edwards

Howard University
Justin Edwards attends Howard University, where he studies Political Science. His political experience includes serving as freshman class representative and sophomore, junior, and senior class president at his high school. He also served as a page at the Louisiana State Senate. Justin’s perfect grade Point average has earned him membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. His long time commitment to service has been demonstrated by activities such as the founding of a scholarship program, the VISION Foundation, which promotes education, leadership, and community service for young people in his hometown. Lafayette, Louisiana.

Hasani Hayden

Harvard University
Hasani Hayden is an Economics major at Harvard University. He is treasurer for the Harvard Black Students Association, makes presentations and leads tours for the Office of Admissions, and directs Harvard’s Summer Business Academy. He has also participated in the Ron Brown Leadership Summit, Capital One Summit for Developing Leaders, and Morgan Stanley’s Early Insights program. His hometown is Wyoming, Michigan, a suburb of Grand Rapids.

David Johnson

Sewanee: The University of the South
David Johnson studies Politics at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he was named to the Order of the Gownsmen as a result of his strong academic record. He is proud to have received the honor as a sophomore because most students do so as juniors and seniors. He is also proud to have been “gowned” while playing on Sewanee’s varsity basketball team, which last season achieved its best record since 1998 and won its first conference championship since 2005. He also works as a student assistant to the Provost. He interned last summer at Grameen Bank in Dhaka, Bangladesh. David is the Youth and College Division State President for the State NAACP. His hometown is Brownsville, Tennessee.

Akinade Ojemakinde

Georgia Tech
Akinade Ojemakinde is a Biology major with a concentration in Biomedical Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. He is preparing for a career as an orthopedic surgeon or general surgeon. Akin (pronounced: Ah KEEN) is a Stamps President’s Scholar, the university’s highest merit scholarship. At Georgia Tech, he assists with genetic research at the McGrath Lab and serves as vice president for blood drives for the campus chapter of the American Red Cross. He also works as a medical scribe at the Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center. In addition to his pre-med activities, he works as a peer mentor for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Akin’s hometown is Albany, Georgia.

Cameron Wiley

Swarthmore College
Cameron Wiley is a pre-law student at Swarthmore College. His major is History and minor is Philosophy. He serves on the College Judiciary Committee and works as a student host and tour guide while building an outstanding academic record at Swarthmore. He is also the starting point guard for the college’s basketball team, helping the Garnet win the Centennial Conference championship for the first time in the college’s history. He was named to the all-conference team and was the conference Player of the Year. He was also
Most Valuable Player of the 2017 conference tournament. Cameron’s hometown is Atlanta, Georgia.
