President of the Institute Introduces alumnus Brandon Harris ‘12 to his New Congregation
WASHINGTON, DC September 13, 2019 – This morning, William A. Keyes IV introduced Institute alumnus Brandon Harris at People’s Congregational United Church of Christ in Washington, DC. Following the worship service, the members of the congregation elected Rev. Harris senior minister.
Harris participated in the Institute while a student at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, he attended the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where he was the Robert W. Woodruff Fellow in Theology and Ministry. While studying at Candler and interning at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, he received multiple awards for preaching and ministry.
His first job after Candler was Protestant chaplain at Georgetown University and the Georgetown University Law Center. After two and a half years at Georgetown, he became a candidate for the senior minister position at People’s. He had been a guest preacher there on several occasions.
